Latest weddings for ideas and inspiration
the blog
It’s always a pleasure to be a part of those days where we realise what a wedding is all about – love and marrying the person you want to spend the rest of your life with! Here are some weddings I’ve shot so you can see how I approach the day and what you can expect from yours!
Naomi and Joel – Churchstanton, Somerset
Bank holiday weekend in this country means one thing……rain! And did it rain on Naomi and Joel’s wedding day! Thankfully being farmers it was nothing a pair of wellies and a brolly wouldn’t solve.
Nicola and Joe – Engagement Shoot, Sidmouth, Devon
I first met Nicola and Joe in a very windy and slightly damp Sidmouth back in February.
Joe proposed to Nicola on Sidmouth beach so even though they don’t live there, they thought it was fitting to come back for their engagement shoot.
Rebecca and Jason – Thorverton, Devon
Rebecca and Jason were married at the very pretty St Thomas of Canterbury Church in Thorverton, Devon.
I met the boys at Rebecca and Jason’s house in Exeter for a lengthy lesson in bow-tie tying, present giving and giving advice on whether brown or black shoes were the way to go!
Sophie and Matt – Burgh Island, Devon
Burgh Island Hotel was the perfect venue for Matt and Sophie’s 1930’s inspired day and probably the most relaxed wedding I have ever shot! Their intimate ceremony took place in the Captain’s Cabin and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight!
Rebecca and Jack – Torquay, Devon
Rebecca and Jack were married at the end of the summer after weeks of glorious hot, sunny weather. Just a few days before, the weather forecast didn’t look so promising! Gale force winds and pouring rain didn’t sound too much fun.
But actually on the day this didn’t matter at all and Rebecca took it all in her stride – luckily that rain never came and other than a few windy moments and a veil wanting to fly away it didn’t affect their day.
Venetia and Alex – St Dominick, Cornwall
I was recently asked by a close friend of mine to help shoot Venetia’s and Alex’s wedding in St Dominick, Cornwall.
It sounded like the perfect day, a small village church ceremony followed by a reception at Venetia’s parents house overlooking the river Tamar. Top this off with bright sunshine all day and yes, it was perfect!
Here’s a small taster of the day.
Georgia and Ali – Salcombe, Devon
Georgia and Ali were married in Salcombe, Devon at the very stunning Harbour Hotel.
We had a bit of a wet day, but it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. With 4 very energetic children excited to see their mum and dad/auntie and uncle get married, I was certainly kept on my toes!
Please take a look at a few of my favourites from the day.
Welcome!
Welcome to the blog! Hopefully it will give you an insight into who I am, what I love doing and my recent work.
I thought I’d kick this off with a little look back at some of the amazing weddings I was fortunate to have photographed in 2015.
“We were so happy to have had Catherine as our wedding photographer. She is so lovely & professional, capturing our day perfectly. Can’t thank her enough for everything.”
