I was first approached by Sophie and Matt’s wedding planner back in March to photograph their wedding on Burgh Island, South Devon.
With just 4 guests and the wedding taking place in Agatha Christie’s ‘second home’ Burgh Island Hotel, how could I refuse!
It was the perfect venue for Matt and Sophie’s 1930’s inspired day and probably the most relaxed wedding I have ever shot! Their intimate ceremony took place in the Captain’s Cabin and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight!
In between a few heavy showers we managed to catch the sun for some beautiful portraits of the bride and groom.
I left the wedding party enjoying their cocktails in the Palm Court Bar and made my way back to Bigbury-on-Sea on the slightly wobbly sea tractor!
Special thanks to Christina-Marie Pendl for the wedding planning as well as Burgh Island Hotel for the warm welcome – definitely worth a stay if you love all things art-deco.
